  • Not Guilty Verdict in Murder Trial

    Result: Not Guilty

    Client acquitted of murder after a week-long jury trial in Chester County Court of Common Pleas.

  • Marijuana Possession Dismissed for College Student

    Result: Dismissed

    Attorney Michael Skinner routinely helps college students in the West Chester area. Not long ago, attorney Skinner represented a young man when he was arrested for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia.

    Not wanting a drug conviction on his record complicating his ability to find a job after graduation, attorney Skinner fought for his young client and negotiated to have the entire case dismissed and expunged from his record.

  • Reduced Charges for Bank Manager Theft

    Result: Reduced

    Client was charged with multiple counts of swindling money from a bank customer’s account. The prosecutor was pursuing significant prison time, but attorney Skinner negotiated to have numerous charges dropped and arraigned for a low state sentence.

  • Sexual Assault Dismissal for College Student

    Result: Dismissed

    Client accused of sexual assault against a college coed. Following the preliminary hearing, all charges were dismissed for lack of evidence.

  • Theft Charges Dismissed for Lack of Evidence

    Result: Dismissed

    Client accused of stealing classmate’s property.  At the preliminary hearing in district court, all charges against the client were dismissed for lack of evidence.

  • DUI and False ID Case Dismissed

    Result: Dismissed

    Client was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop, the Client provided police with a false name. and was subsequently arrested for DUI and providing false identification to law enforcement.

    Michael Skinner filed a pretrial motion challenging the sufficiency of the DUI charge. Before trial, the DUI was dismissed.

  • PennDOT Appeal Saves Client’s License

    Result: Overturned

    Following his DUI arrest, the client refused to submit to chemical testing of his blood.  Thereafter, PennDOT suspended the Client’s driver’s license for one year.

    Skinner Law Firm filed an appeal of the suspension and successfully argued that the Client was not properly advised of the ‘Implied Consent Warnings. The client’s license suspension was overturned.

  • Felony Burglary Charges Dismissed

    Result: Dismissed

    Client allegedly broke into a residence and stole property while the homeowner was on vacation.  Michael Skinner aggressively defended the charges. All charges were later dismissed.

  • DUI Dismissed after a Car Crash

    Result: Dismissed

    Following a vehicle crash, Client was arrested for DUI based on prescription drugs. Michael Skinner filed a pretrial motion challenging the sufficiency of the evidence. The DUI was subsequently dismissed.

  • Suspension Overturned in PennDOT Appeal

    Result: Dismissed

    Following a conviction for DUI, PennDOT failed to begin license suspension until the following year. Defense attorney Michael Skinner filed an appeal of the suspension for unreasonable delay.  The trial judge agreed and overturned the license suspension.
